MATRYOSHKA (JOLIE DOLL)

In this series, the author interacts with the country’s cultural history, working with two of the most recognizable images of Russia.

Through the author’s vision, hybridization occurs, the merging of one of the most recognizable popular cultural markers, like a matryoshka doll, with the image of the Russian avant-garde, which was a showcase of Russian culture and significantly influenced the world art of the 20th century. Author creates a pattern, filled with the same complex energy as the image of the special Russian destiny captured in the cultural tradition.
